Or perhaps it's a way to realise that you actually do want to stay alive. In the last few years, I have been reading the story of the Chinese poet Wang Wei. He was born in the 14th century AD and lived a very good life.

But he also died at a very young age. This is not surprising because he had a fatal illness. But this is a story about a man who wanted to live forever or at least his whole life.

He did not want to die and accepted his death as inevitable, just as we do in modern society. Wang Wei had also been married three times and had three children from his three wives before dying at age 37.
